Data Landscape Steering Group Advisory Panel
The Advisory Panel exists to support the work of the Data Landscape Steering Group (DLSG).
It includes representatives from a large number of organisations and perspectives. The Chair of the Advisory Panel attends meetings of the DLSG and will offer a report of panel meetings and activities at each DLSG meeting.
Terms of reference
The DLSG Advisory Panel will:
- Advise the Data Landscape Steering Group on technical and logistical issues
- Contribute to the specification of individual projects and activities, including scope, sustainability and outcomes
- Act as a steering and oversight group for the portfolio of DLSG projects and activities
- Act as a consultative group to support the management of common HE data specifications, including the Common Data Language and the HE Classification of Subjects (HECoS)
- Support the Data Landscape Steering Group in the promotion of high standards in the collection and handling of data
- Act as ambassadors for the work of the Data Landscape Steering Group
- Provide intelligence on issues and perceptions from across the landscape.
Membership of the Advisory Panel
Nominations are made to the panel by a broad range of organisations and sector groups and are supplemented by invitations to individuals in order to provide the broadest range of perspectives and expertise. The panel is chaired by Wendy Appleby, Registrar and Head of Student & Registry Services at University College London.
